Bulldog Bound Perspective: Clark Comish

Meet Clark Comish, who transferred from Holmes Community College in Ridgeland, MS. Clark looked at multiple colleges and what they offered before deciding on a major. Clark’s academic advisors recommended looking into Landscape Architecture at Mississippi State University.  The Landscape Architecture program allows him to combine his passion of nature along with being creative. The program trains Clark for the skill set to help improve natural ecosystems and change how humans interact with them.

“I have a large interest in sustainability. My program looks at multiple areas of sustainability including natural habitat, hydrology and energy. I have studied native plant species and their complex ecosystems. I learn what it takes to protect and improve these environments.

The transition of going from a community college to a university is a big step, but once you find a major you want to turn into a career you will experience one of the most rewarding things life can give you. Be open minded because you never know what class could introduce you to a lifelong passion.”

- Clark Comish, Ridgeland MS

Major Insights: Landscape Architecture

Do you want to leave a positive impact on the environment and landscape? Greek Life

Mississippi State University is home to 31 fraternity and sorority chapters who are all nationally recognized as members of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), the National Panhellenic Conference (Panhellenic), or the North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC). Transfer students have the opportunity to participate and become active members in these communities.

Greek life at MSU balances academics, leadership, community service/philanthropy and social events. The all-Greek grade point average is consistently higher than the non-Greek grade point average. Check out the MSU Greek Life website for more information.

MVNU2MSU

Have you heard of #MVNU2MSU? Transfer students planning to live on campus this Fall can participate on August 9, 2014.
