Bulldog Bound Perspective: Leslie Touchstone

Leslie Touchstone is originally from Carthage, MS but moved to Brandon after graduating from MCC in 2002 with her degree in Medical Technology. Since then she has worked as a medical technician, and for the last four years she has worked in the Clinical Pathology Department of the Mississippi Veterinary Research and Diagnostic Lab in Pearl, MS.

“I chose MSU-Meridian because I want to move into more of a management role and the BAT in Health Services seemed like the perfect fit.” Having just finished her 4th semester in the BAT program Leslie said “my favorite thing so far has been learning more about healthcare policies and statistics.

Leslie offered this advice to future students; “Explore what you love to do.” She said that with the great help she recieved from her advisor, Ms. Regena Clark, along with other faculty and staff at MSU-Meridian, future bulldogs will be in good hands.

Major Insight: BAT-Healthcare Services

The Bachelor of Applied Technology (B.A.T) degree with a concentration in Healthcare Services is an offering unique to the Meridian campus. It gives students who may have already completed an associate’s degree with a number of technical credits the opportunity to apply up to twenty-eight of those hours toward completion of an undergraduate degree.

Students who graduate from this program will possess the qualifications for healthcare administration along with the communication skills needed to oversee healthcare workers in a wide variety of healthcare delivery organizations. Graduates will also gain a working knowledge in management and psychology. Click here for more information.

Transfer Admissions Guarantee: How To Get Tagged

Community College Freshmen - If you're bound for Mississippi State, go ahead and Get Tagged! There are 2 ways to become part of our Transfer Admissions Guarantee (TAG) program.

If you were admitted to MSU as a freshman for Fall 2015 but decided to attend a community college first, just go back to apply.msstate.edu, log back in to your application and click the "TAG ME" button. Please tell us where you're attending community college and update your contact information as needed.

If you're in your first year of Community College but did NOT apply for admission to State as a freshman, you can still Get Tagged, too. Go to apply.msstate.edu and follow the directions to apply to the TAG program.

If you're a community college sophomore or a student planning to transfer from another 4-year institution, then the TAG program will not be the best fit for you. The traditional application for admission for Fall 2016 will be your best route.
