Brittany Renée Franks

Meet Brittany Renée Franks, a transfer student from Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Mississippi. Brittany heard that if you wanted to pursue a career in animal and dairy science, then MSU was the place to be! She is already learning so much and can't wait to see what is yet to come. "I have already started getting hands on experience. I recently got to actually feel the internal organs of a cow."

Brittany said that while her major led her to MSU, now that she is here, she really enjoys the variety of events on campus, "There is always something to get involved in." She gave this advice for future MSU transfer students, "Don't feel scared of the MSU environment. Take your time, and you will find your place."

Major Insight: Animal and Dairy Sciences

The College of Agriculture and Life Science (CALS) presents a broad array of opportunities for the study of life, encompassing 9 schools and departments. Students in the Animal and Dairy Sciences program receive hands-on education and experience needed to be successful in the field.

This program challenges students to think critically and exercise knowledge of discipline content through scientific writing and presentation. Students who are considering pursuing veterinary medicine or graduate studies will find that the academic setting of Animal and Dairy Sciences is an ideal fit.
