Bulldog Bound Perspective: Will Davis

Meet Will Davis, a transfer student from Itawamba Community College. Mississippi State University has always been a dream for Will. He has been “maroon and white for life”. Will was lead to his major by a love for the outdoors. He has enjoyed learning about all the different types of trees and how they work, saying “each one is unique in its own way”.

Will is currently completing his summer field program. He says while it is a lot of hard work, it is a very rewarding experience that each student in his major gets to take part in. Students get the opportunity to put the information they learned in the classroom into practice. Will said this gives Mississippi State graduates an advantage over those from other colleges.

When asked what advice he would like to share with future transfer students Will said, “Consider all your options and make sure every choice you make is right for you.” He also encouraged students to consider joining a Fraternity or a Sorority, saying lifelong friendships can be created. Upon graduation Will hopes to work in a new location so that he can experience different parts of the country.

Major Insight: Forestry

Transfer Admissions Guarantee: How To Get Tagged

Community College Freshmen - If you're bound for Mississippi State, go ahead and Get Tagged! There are 2 ways to become part of our Transfer Admissions Guarantee (TAG) program.

If you were admitted to MSU as a freshman for Fall 2015 but decided to attend a community college first, just go back to apply.msstate.edu, log back in to your application and click the "TAG ME" button. Please tell us where you're attending community college and update your contact information as needed.

If you're in your first year of Community College but did NOT apply for admission to State as a freshman, you can still Get Tagged, too. Go to apply.msstate.edu and follow the directions to apply to the TAG program.

If you're a community college sophomore or a student planning to transfer from another 4-year institution, then the TAG program will not be the best fit for you. The traditional application for admission for Fall 2016 will be your best route.
