Transfer Tracks Perspective: Molly May

Meet Molly May, a transfer student from Itawamba Community College, and the reigning Miss MSU! Molly is from Houston, MS and was drawn to Mississippi State University because of her love for the marching band. “I spent 9 years in the marching band and after attending football games solely to see the band and getting my first cowbell, I couldn't picture myself anywhere else.”

Molly chose to pursue a degree in communication because of her love for meeting new people and helping others express themselves. She said she really enjoys the close knit atmosphere of her program. “I know my professors personally and vice versa. I am a person to them; not a number. I'm close with other students in my major because we take so many classes together and I've formed close friendships and study groups with them.”

When we asked Molly to share her favorite thing about MSU, she said “sitting in the middle of the drill field on a Wednesday around 11 a.m. watching students change classes, hundreds of people flood the field, and campus buzzes with so much, life and I just stand and take it in.” Molly offered this advice for future MSU transfer students. “College is what you make of it. Try new things. Join clubs. Talk to people outside of your transfer-friend circle. I promise you won't regret it.”
