Exchange student nominations must be completed by the exchange coordinator or the study abroad / education advisor for students interested in spending one semester to a year at Mississippi State University (MSU). Nominations are only accepted from MSU partner universities. Nominations must be submitted before the students complete their applications. This is not an online application for university admission. Students must submit their applications online with MSU. Your nomination will not guarantee university admissions, but will allow the admission offices and the International Institute to collaborate on how to best meet the needs of our anticipated exchange students at MSU.
International exchange students must have a minimum of one year of study to be considered for the exchange program. Students must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA by MSU’s standards. Students must pay an application fee of $60. In the U.S., international students are required to be enrolled in a full-time course load. At MSU, a full-time course load is at least twelve (12) credit hours for undergraduate students. A typical course is three (3) credit hours.
In most cases, graduate exchange students will apply as unclassified students for graduate admissions. International students must submit an appropriate TOEFL/IELTS score for admission. Students must pay an application fee of $80. In the U.S., international students are required to be enrolled in a full-time course load. At MSU, a full-time course load is at least nine (9) credit hours for graduate students. A typical course is three (3) credit hours.
