MSU is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all individuals. UTV’S have become a large portion of vehicles on campus and can be very dangerous if not driven correctly. To ensure that UTV operators are well-informed about these potential hazards and equipped with the necessary skills to operate UTVs safely, we have established an online UTV operator training program. This program will cover the various hazards common to UTV operation, maintenance procedures, and safety tips.

Accident Investigation & Prevention Awareness

In this awareness-focused class, participants explore the purpose of accident investigations and learn the importance of promptly reporting accidents and injuries. Lab Safety Training

Course Details
General lab safety training is required annually for ALL laboratory personnel; this course is designed to aid researchers in identifying hazards, understanding chemical and physical hazards, and to aid them in mitigating the inherent risks of working in a laboratory. Content includes GHS hazard communication standards, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), risk mitigation strategies (engineering controls, administrative controls, personal protective equipment), and appropriate chemical storage, handling, and labeling. 244 MAGRUDER STREET, NOT MAGRUDER HALL

Defensive Driving

Course Details
The National Safety Councils Defensive Driving Course (DDC) offers practical strategies to reduce collision-related injuries, fatalities, and costs. Attendees will receive a nationally recognized certification from the National Safety Council. The NSCs certifications are accepted in more states than any other driver improvement or driver education program for insurance discounts.

Biosafety: Principles & Practices

Course Details
This course provides an overview of fundamental principles of biosafety including an introduction to risk groups and accompanying biosafety levels, an overview of risk assessments and respective measures of control, biological waste management procedures, as well as emergency response protocols. This course is required for all individuals who work in any biosafety lab.
