I am Aylissa Hodges, I have been serving in the Mississippi Army National Guard for two and a half years now. I am originally from Meridian, MS where I was pretty much born and raised. I have one sibling, a sister, who is 10 years younger then me so everything I do is for her. I am currently a freshman enrolled at Mississippi State University Starkville campus where my major in Criminology.

My writing is a poem. I chose to do the emotions a soldier carries being away from home in a combat zone.
