Writing from the front

Kendall, Christa

I was adopted into a loving family, having a mother from Germany and a Dad in the Navy. I grew up in Texas with two siblings. I love to read and play the flute/piccolo. I grew up playing soccer and doing many crafts. I have had a love for animals since I grew up and now I am in college pursuing my love for animals.

My dad and grandpa sent back and forth many letters while my grandpa was out in the army. When reading the first letter, I started crying because it was just so emotional. I never got to meet my grandpa and remember it, so I learned some things about him and my dad through these letters. For this song, I sampled some music from Lady Gaga, using the main frame of her lyrics from Million Reasons. The song just screamed emotion to me and I thought it was a perfect fit for this idea. I changed the concept from love of a man to love of a son and having the point of view from my grandpa to my dad. When referencing Bob Cat, it is what my grandpa called my dad when he was very little. My dad's brother was younger than him and not school age.
