Nach is an Indian Dance group made up of a diverse Group of Mississippi State students, who love to dance and explore the rich history of India. The group was started by Swati Desai in '07, since then Nach has grown and has become well known around Mississippi. Nach has thrilled audiences with countless high-energy and vibrant performances inspired by Raas/Garba, the World of Bollywood, and Bhangra.

This class teaches the principles of agri-marketing to prepare students for the National Agri-marketing Association (NAMA) competition each Spring. In this class, we select a product, develop a marketing plan for it, and then present our plan at competition. We also have guest speakers. These speakers are typically professionals in some agricultural business and give insight into their careers. The Mississippi State NAMA student chapter meets every Tuesday in Lloyd-Ricks-Watson Room 14.

The National Pan-Hellenic Council, Incorporated (NPHC) represents historically Black Greek-letter organizations (BGLOs) and is composed of the Divine Nine. The member organizations of the Divine Nine are Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. NPHC promotes interaction through forums, meetings and other mediums for the exchange of information and engages in cooperative programming and initiatives through various activities and functions. On May 10, 1930, on the campus of Howard University, in Washington DC, the National Pan-Hellenic Council was formed as a permanent organization with the following charter members: Alpha Kappa Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Delta Sigma Theta, and Zeta Phi Beta. In 1931, Alpha Phi Alpha and Phi Beta Sigma joined the Council. Sigma Gamma Rho joined in 1937, and Iota Phi Theta completed the list of member organizations in 1997. The stated purpose and mission of the organization in 1930 was as follows: “Unanimity of thought and action as far as possible in the conduct of Greek-letter collegiate fraternities and sororities, and to consider problems of mutual interest to its member organizations.” Early in 1937, the organization was incorporated under the laws of the State of Illinois and became known as “The National Pan-Hellenic Council, Incorporated." At Mississippi State, there are currently 8 of the 9 member organizations, all governed by the MSU Chapter of NPHC. Each organization strives to interact with, inform, and serve the MSU and Starkville community, through forums, meetings, and events.

Mission Statement: To increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community. The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) is a 501(C)(3) non-profit association that is owned and managed by its members. The organization is dedicated to the academic and professional success of African-American engineering students and professionals. NSBE offers its members leadership training, professional development, mentoring opportunities, career placement services and more. NSBE is comprised of 242 collegiate, 70 professional and 82 pre-college active chapters nationwide and overseas. These chapters are geographically divided into six regions. NSBE is governed by an executive board of college students and engineering professionals and is operated by a professional staff in our World Headquarters located in Alexandria, VA. NSBE has accomplished more for Black engineering students than any other organization in the world. The same light that flows from the NSBE torch to students and professionals in the United States is also relevant for NSBE students in Africa, Europe, South America, Asia, Canada, Australia and the Caribbean. It is the goal of the Society to replicate its mission and vision in countries around the world, creating a global network of Black engineers, scientists and technologists.

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) is an honor society that recognizes and elevates high-achieving students. Less than 10 percent of students at institutions with NSCS chapters qualify for membership each year. Nominees must be in their first or second year of their undergraduate career, and have earned a GPA of 3.4 or above.NSCS is proud to offer nearly half a million dollars in scholarships, But more than that, NSCS is a growth opportunity, leadership training ground, and resource. Students who join meet people on campus and at other schools they might not have otherwise – people who become friends, long-term supporters, and future colleagues. Students who join get the tools and encouragement they need to take part in transforming the on-campus and community-wide issues that mean the most to them. The Mississippi State University New Maroon Camp is a five-day, four-night student led retreat that prepares first year students for the transition to Mississippi State University. At New Maroon Camp, students learn what it really means to be a Mississippi State Bulldog. This includes giving students the opportunity to experience and learn about MSU history & traditions (the cowbell, the Chapel of Memories, etc.), meet other incoming students, and gain insight into freshman year. At Mississippi State University, we pride ourselves on being a family. At New Maroon Camp, we carry on this legacy by placing campers into one of five family groups. In these family groups, students will participate in team competitions and group discussions, allowing them to develop deeper relationships with their counselors and peers before classes even begin.

The Nu Beta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was chartered on the campus of Mississippi State University on April 14, 1976. Nu Beta was the first black greek sorority to be chartered at Mississippi State. The procedures for the implementation of the chapter were initiated by Soror Amelia Adams, Soror Hester Watts Buie, Soror Pearlie Perkins, and Soror Pauline Pearson Stamps. Because of their determination and dedication to Delta we have been a chapter of college women with the courage to lead. Today we continue to serve our community as well as the campus of Mississippi State. We conduct programs under our sorority's Five Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and involvement. The Nu Beta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta continues to set standards for academic excellence as well as lead and assist students and people in the community.
