Saudi Students Association at Mississippi State University

To promote knowledge of the Saudi culture and develop networks for the communication between Saudi and non-Saudi students, professionals, and friends. In addition, Saudi Students Association can serve as a home away from home for the Saudis to meet each other and celebrate their cultural unity.

SCUBA Dawgs

SCUBA Dawgs is a SCUBA diving sport club for Mississippi State students! Along with hosting Discover SCUBA sessions in the Sanderson Pool, we take scuba diving trips throughout the year. Past trip locations include: Key Largo and Panama City Beach, FL, Bonne Terre Mine, MO, and more! Not certified in scuba diving? No problem! We will point you in the right direction!

Service D.A.W.G.S.

Service DAWGS is a student-led organization open to all MSU students who want to get involved in the local community. We organize small events to serve the community regularly and invite you to come with your own service project ideas. We also work closely with the Maroon Volunteer Center to keep students current on group and individual volunteer opportunities in the area.

Shackouls Honors Council

The University Honors Council is an elected group of 20 students who serve as the governing body of the Shackouls Honors College. The members of the Council represent more than 1,000 participants who come from every college and school. The council is composed of 20 members who are nominated and elected by the members of the Honors College. These positions are filled by fall and spring elections and are open to all current MSU Honors students (3.4 cumulative GPA required). Students must fill out a form of intent to be nominated. If you are elected to the Honors Council, you would serve on one of six standing committees: Activities, Administration, Communication, Recruitment, Finance, or Service. You would also be expected to attend weekly council meetings, as well as scheduled committee meetings. Also, you must work a total of twelve (12) hours over the course of the semester. You can be involved with Honors Council activities without being elected. Just volunteer! The Service and Recruitment Committees are open to all members of the Honors College. In addition, all council meetings are open to anyone. You may make suggestions to any one of the council members or present your ideas at one of the meetings.

SAE has been at Mississippi State since 1887 and had a house on campus since 1959. Founded at the University of Alabama.

Sigma Alpha Lambda

Sigma Alpha Lambda is an honor society for students with a 3.0 and above that focuses on Service, Achievement, and Leadership. Throughout the course of the semester students volunteer and receive community service hours, projects include Food Fight Against Hunger, Relay for Life, One Million Bones, and Granada Street Kids Project.

The objective of the soriority is to promote its members in all facets of agriculture and to strengthen the bonds of friendship among them. Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated was founded by 7 illustrious educators on the campus of Butler University in Indianapolis, IN. It is the only sorority in the National PanHellenic Council that was founded on a predominately white campus. Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority's aim is to enhance the quality of life within the community. Public service, leadership development and education of youth are the hallmarks of the organization's programs and activities. Sigma Gamma Rho addresses concerns that impact society educationally, civilly, and economically.

Society of Physics Students

The Society of Physics Students is a part of Mississippi State University's Physics and Astronomy Department and a daughter organization of the American Institute of Physics; our region is known as Zone 10 of the general society. The goal of the SPS is to associate undergraduate students and graduate students from all areas of physics and astronomy. Our local chapter is based out of the Rundel Reading Room, the physics undergraduates' study room.

Soil and Water Conservation Society-MSU

The Soil and Water Conservation Society at MS State focuses on issues surrounding the conservation of natural resources. Comprised of students as well as faculty, SWCS is characterized by the connection of individuals who all share the common goal of soil and water conservation. Common events hosted by this chapter include stream cleanups, stream training workshops, and monthly meetings that enhance the capabilities of conservationists through training and professional development. Sojourn

Sojourn will be a multilingual publication, highlighting languages taught at MSU. By writing and practicing a foreign language students learning the language receive a new way to explore the language, and native speakers have a way to use their own skills to show their culture.

Space Hardware Design Team

The goal of the Space Hardware Design Team is to design and build small satellites and space hardware in order to provide opportunities to enhance and develop the skills of students at Mississippi State University as well as to further the progress of science being done in the state of Mississippi.

Speech and Debate Council at Mississippi State University

The MSU Speech & Debate Council was created to promote critical thinking, communication skills, and teamwork for students of MSU in any major. The skills are introduced, reinforced, and encouraged by our coaches, Cheryl Chambers (IE) and Brett Harvey (Debate). The students' skills are significantly enhanced and tested through providing students with opportunities for co-curricular competition in debate, oratorical, and interpretation events. The mission of the program includes finding tournament opportunities that will both challenge students as well as provide an opportunity for success.

The Russian Club serves to promote and educate others on the culture, lifestyle, and language of Russia. Students and faculty of Mississippi State University are all more than welcome to join.

STEM Communications Club

To work with STEM students in making sure each student is better prepared, and more confident with all types of communications. We will have regular meetings for students to practice presenting in multiple formats, work days for writing reports and papers. Additionally, we will invite different guest speakers to give tips and tricks. This club is meant to be a fun and relaxed collaborative environment for students to improve their communication skills.

STEMpact

STEMpact at Mississippi State is an organization created for STEM outreach into our Starkville community. Our mission is to teach students in local schools about various STEM lessons while also showing them how fun it can be. While it’s true that Mississippi State is composed of classrooms, offices and residence halls, there’s a lot more to our campus. The MSU-CVM SCAAEP is a student-lead professional development club focused on enhancing our members’ knowledge about equids and equine veterinary medicine. Student Chapter of the American Association of Veterinary Parasitologists

Parasites can be found in nearly all areas of veterinary medicine. Though many are small in size, their impact on our patients is quite large! So, we have a club dedicated to learning more about these fascinating creatures. The American Association of Veterinary Parasitologists (AAVP) was founded in 1956 and is a scientific and educational organization. Members of AAVP are interested in parasites of companion, food-producing, domesticated animals, and wildlife; some of which are transmissible to humans. We study these parasites to ultimately find new or better ways to diagnose, prevent, treat, or reduce infections in animals and in humans. Members can expect interesting research and case presentations, and activities such as parasite recovery labs, diagnostic labs, and collaborations with other CVM clubs. SAIFD is the Student Chapter of the American Institute of Floral Designers. We are an organization that specializes in the excellence of floral design. Anyone is able to join SAIFD- that means any major! We meet every other week on Wednesdays at 6:00pm in Dorman room 116. We learn new techniques and creative ideas on designing with flowers. From flowers in the media to guest designers, we think SAIFD is the club for you!
